I am 34 weeks and I keep having contractions, lower back pain, and my legs keep hurting. The problem is I have a cerclage and I have never experienced going into labor having a cerclage. Did anyone experience that, if yes please tell me what happened..

Thank you for responding....

I gave birth to my baby girl at 25 wks and I had a cerclage put in only a couple of wks prior to this. I had started dialating without any contractions or feelings of pain, it only came up during an ultrasound. When I eventually did go intolabour it was contractions (pain) that I felt and after I had dialated so much the doctors removed the cerclage. It was only a matter of about half an hour before I was 5-7centimetres dialated an gave birth to my little girl. Everything was normal, except that the cerclage still holds the cervix together. If you are in full labour it needs to be removed because it can rupture the membranes, or tear the cervix which can cause problems.

I had braxton hicks contractions a whole day before labor and I slept the whole night long, which was saying something since I usually got up AT LEAST once to use the restroom. Then I did a bunch of cleaning and shopping. My real contractions started in the check out of a store in a nearby state! But don't worry about what happens BEFORE labor. When you're in labor, you know, and it usually takes a while before you have the baby anyway....

You need to go into the ER ASAP. If you are indeed in labor like it sounds then you take the risk of the stitch ripping and bleeding out. Plus they might be able to stop the labor.
