I am almost 12 weeks pregnant and have just been told that i have a fibroid tumor behind my uterus. anyone have this and any advice

First make sure its a fibroid tumor. I was diagnosed with Adenomyosis which is a thicking on the outside wall. They are confused with each other alot. I was worried and wound up pregnant 3 months later and now I have 3 year old at home. Also pregnant women sometimes get cysts that develop on the ovaries and are totally begnin and go away after the birth. Double check with your OBGYN and make sure you get all the facts.

I know of 2 people who has/had a fibroid and both found out during labor. My best friend had hers removed in the delivery room right before they stitched her up. My co-worker found out that hers grew back, but her doctor said it's nothing to be worried about and that they won't remove it just yet.

I'm not really sure how it works when you have one behind your uterus because in both of my friend's cases the fibroid was always on one of their ovaries.

I think you should ask your doctor more questions about this and see if it's anything to be concerned about.

I have a fibroid tumor and my dr says that it is nothing to worry about so far it has not caused any problems (17 weeks) I have heard that it can sometimes cause a little more pain with labor and that there is a slight increased chance that the baby will position itself breech (butt first) to accomadate the tumor...however not sure how true either of those statements are.
