Where is the # located on a holly carb that denotes the cfm? And how would I go about finding out what kind of carb I have. Thanks

Go to the performance car parts shop and with carb in hand ask that the heck is this ancient relic I have in my hand? Got a carb kit for it? Havent you heard there are fuel things electronically controled and exhaust checked for correct mixture called fuel injectors and oxygen sensors? My LS-2 small Block 6.0 liter GTO gets 421 rear axle horsepower and has factory warranty.

model number usually appears on the right hand mounting boss(lower). thats the flat metal with the stud going through it that mounts the carb. the second place is the air horn or choke mounting, i believe left hand side. use the model number to look up the cfm.i dont believe the carb has cfm on it anywhere. also you can crossreference it if it came stock on a machine.fyi motorcraft has a full line of holley designed or built carbs(not sure which or both) most have an easier less finicky attitude, however for performance, pure d holley and a little patience and a real good fuel filter will work just as well with lotsa bang for the buck. i like the motorcrafts for ease of maintenance and assembly, beware of the 2160(or is it 80) came on early 80's fords. this 1 is a real booger with the 4 corner idle, and slim holley jets. it tends to run very lean. powervalve protection is a must!
