I have a 1988 Caddilac Fleetwood and today while I was driving it just starting dinging, kind of like the open door chime (the door was not open) I didn't have any dummy lights come on, but I am afraid to drive it now, does anyone know what this means?

Low on gas?
Turn signal was left on for a while?
Trunk not closed?

If there was an issue with the engine the check engine light would come on.

The little dinging noise is a "friendly reminder" of something you should do, or forgot to do.

I wouldn't worry about it.

It's either the button that gets pushed in when you close the door is defective,The ignition switch has a short in it, Or all the houses on your block have windchimes and it's windy out.

you will get the codes examine for loose at more suitable vehicle or Autozone. they are no longer suited yet they're going to do it for you. Im guessing a susceptible coil or coils or a clogged gasoline filter out or susceptible pump. the main inexpensive to attempt is the gasoline filter out.
