I'm looking to buy a new gaming computer. This one is going to be a desktop. I'm looking to spend only about $3,000 max. I want the best of the best because of the high quality games that I would be playing. Can you give me details about it and a website that I could buy from?

I think a Dell XPS 700 would work well for you, or perhaps an Alienware. As for details I could give you a lot of details as to what to look for, but I have found that most people just ignore my answers, so if you want send me an email and I can give you some help.

Dell, HP, all the main computer manufactures are good. Make sure you have 2gb DDR2 Memory and a Core 2 Duo Processor e6600, e6700, or x6800. On Cnet, the e6700 has the Editor's Choice because it is the best processor in the world besides the double priced x6800. Don't go with AMD, they just got their a$$'s handed to them by Intels new line of Core 2 Chips (not to be confused with Core Duo, Core 2 Duo is the newer version).

You can definitely find one for under $1500!

Check Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco and Wal-Mart.

P.S. If you get a Core 2 Duo, make sure its not e6300 or e6400 because although they are cheaper, they are definitely not as powerful, which half the amount of cache. Cache helps things load faster and will be useful for high intensity games.

I hope this helped!

Dell says their gaming computer is so great...but I'm not sure. I would go to cnet.com or a similar site to search and compare. You get expert opinions, as well as consumer ratings.
