Food with protein in the morning, such as eggs, and some bacon and sausage, helps increase bloodflow to the brain with enough physical strength to perceive oncoming mental challenges represented in a work or school environment. The physiological burden that people set on themselves by not eating breakfast is common in America, and most of the world. It helps your thinking ability. Remember, the brain is a muscle too, just like the tricep or abdomen.

It is written in all of the school books.. that a good breakfast is essential before going in for an exam.. for example.. It is not the ONLY essential thing.. rest is also important.. but breakfast is right up there at the top

Breakfast kicks off your metabolism, revs it up, so you are better able to concentrate.
Sugar is the worst thing you can consume at breakfast.
Protein sustains your system much better. Try 1/2 cup of low cal low fat yogurt, or hard or soft boiled eggs, and complex carbs like oatmeal.
Bacon and sausage contain large amounts of sodium so are not recommended. And be sure to get some "good fats", like flaxseed oil.

Let's say you skip breakfast and you have a test that morning. Now your stomach will growl in the middle of the test when the room is all quiet. It's so embarrassing and you can't concetrate on the test becuase your trying to suck in your stomach to prevent it from growling again. It's happened to me
