I'm a lifelong fan of the original 1973 version. Seen all the prequels & sequels & none measure up to the very 1st.

How many of you liked the "Version You've Never Seen" that was released around 1998? It had all the added CGI & music etc.

I thought it Totally took away from the original work.

The 'Version You've Never Seen' was insulting to its audience. There was no need to telegraph symbolism as it did. The additional scenes did nothing to enhance the plot. It was nothing but an attempt (and a successful one) to fleece the public.

A kid acts retarded, throws up some pea soup, and is supposedly 'possessed' all thanks due to a movie producer and everyone buys into it.
But try and mention what God has in store for mankind, that his name is Jehovah, and the wonderful news of His Kingdom and everyone calls you nuts.
Go figure.
"The Exorcist" is just another tool of Satan to help you invite demonic depravity into your lives.

It didn't add that much, in my opinion. Just a way to sell more DVDs.
