It is fiction. The word of the Lord God Himself specifically states that we will know in part until that final moment. You only get revelation as far as you believe and can accept. You never get the full picture unless you are in search of something. I never started my dream because God has not shown me the starting point. If you do not know something, then you are human. The DaVinci Code is false. It is entertainment. No need to take it to heart. If you do, you are hindering your power of discernment and have wandered in the realm of familiar spirits. Those involved with the DaVinci Code have a strong sense of something tangibly possible, but it is only their way of taking what most tormented people think and they had the audacity to put it in print. Everyone wants logical explanations to Faith, and we have them scientifically with time. Jesus always had an example with every message of faith. DaVinci Code is probably designed to either step up the faith-walk of every Believer or give critics a place of importance. It is only real if you are convinced and it is only fiction if you are convinced. To analyze entertainment films, books, evidence is to help or hinder a person. It depends on your upbringing. Yes, all things are possible but why in this day and age is something as the DaVinci Code being shared. You will be tormented for giving such a thing a serious and literal consideration. You nor I are ever supposed to figure that out with only what we have been given; that means you or I are prone to believe whatever we are told and shown because of the authority of the source. I watch the news and take it to heart but once in awhile I say, how do they know and is it because of what they were told. You cannot possibly know for sure without doubt unless you are the actual experience. DaVinci Code is only what you conclude it to be and I conclude it is fiction. I am reminded of editing a play I presented my church home and they have problems with your revising Scripture. It was edited to word for word. For it to be in plain English is not acceptable; you take away from the specifics that God has for that person. I understand why it was edited and the DaVinci Code sort of does that.

"The Da Vinci Code," like the Bible, is a mix of fact, fiction based on fact, and pure fiction.

The Da Vinci Code is as plausible as Star Wars. May the farce be with the authors.

Dan Brown said that when he researched the topics of the DaVinci code, he expected to find things that would disprove it. But apparently the info he found changed his mind to believe that there is something to it.
My speculation is that it is based on some facts, and he created a fictional story as a way of making those facts known openly to the mass public.
In my opinion, if it all were true; I would not be surprised. It IS historical fact that Christianity was on purpose blended with paganism at the Council of Nicea - to try to make everyone happy. Christian holidays can be traced back to pagan roots and dates/times of the year. But Christianity was largely created, yet it's the only 'true' religion...that's pretty arrogant.

There are aspects of the novel that are real and true. For example, the Louvre museum is a real place. The Mona Lisa is a real work of art. Da Vinci, was a real person. Dan Brown has published an illustrated version of his book, so that the reader can see pictures of the artwork and the places in it that are described. The rest, is up to the reader to decide.

It's fiction - not very good fiction at that. Most of the ideas (which are pretty crack pot ideas) were stolen from another book called Holy Blood and Holy Grail. Which is also not a very good book, calls itself factual and is entirely made up of poorly supported speculation.
