When I took my time slips down to the office tonight I saw the dumpster divers again. My office is in the same building as the Salvation Army...that's a place that receives donated clothing and resells them. Anyways, at night there are always people there routing around in the dumpster. There wouldn't be any food there though, just clothes.

The SA and Goodwill dumpsters are always good for some divers... the clothes that some of these places throw away might be better than the ones these folks are wearing. Late at night you will almost always see someone hitting the donations box too... This could be anyone from resellers to those actually in need.

Grocery stores are a likely place for the hungry or those looking to feed their animals... meat scraps for the dogs, veggies for goats and such.

Anywhere around colleges and universities where students dorm or rent... Kids throw away incredible stuff! This is ripe pickings for flea marketeers and just about anyone looking to find stuff to resell or use.... clothes to stereos to decent furniture even.

Dumpster divers dont always look for food, they just look for stuff they can use, sell, or get a monetary value out of it. Weather changing they could want more clothes to keep warm, or might be 'shopping' for christmas. who knows really, but then again you dont know what you might find, you may find that red flanel shirt you always wanted.

My brothers girlfriend does that to thrift stores. She waits until night time and then goes behind the building and loads up her car. She steals all sorts of stuff from them. I say stealing because it's placed there for those who can use it. She looks at it as free shopping and I think that is so wrong. To make matters worse. My brother buys her everything she wants, so why the stealing from thrift stores?

Haha I have to admit I did that once.
I was walking home from a frieends house, and she lives right by the thrift store, and there were piles of clothes sitting outside. Of course I had to look through them... but I didn't see anything i wanted.

On my early Sunday morning run, I always see them outside of the college kids housing looking for beer cans to recycle.

I saw those before. At my old school, some of my classmates told each other that they lived in there. I never thought that was true though until now. ^_^
