It's probably "mastitis" or a similar infection. It's likely not serious, especially if there's little or no pain.
Call your doc, tell the nurse what's up, and they will probably want to see you & prescribe an antibiotic.
Don't worry hon--most of these type things are NOT cancer!

I used to have the same problem only with both it's not fun. They suspected breast cancer with me as well so I went in and had all the test done the mamogram and chest x-rays and blood work to the hill. I wasn't having sex at the time either. They ruled out cancer they weren't sure what was going on. If you havn't been checked for cancer yet I would. not just because of what is going on but it is a good thing to get a mamogram done regularly, because breast cancer is a serious thing. I know this probaly doesn't answer your question to well but i would say to encourage you since your scared don't worry about it until you have something to worry about. I know it is a scarry thing especially hearing the word cancer but it is probalby just something totally different/ there is no answers with out test and sometimes even with test there are still no answers. It is best though that if cancer is your concern get it checked out by a doc if you haven't and also just don't squeeze

Nipple discharge is actually quite common.
It could be hormones, medications, and number of things.

I just read this article today... maybe it will ease your mind:
