because people are cheap and they don't believe the people who create the music, programs and movies deserve remuneration for their work. Why should they pay for it when someone on a P2P or an underground website will give it to them for free. Is it so terrible to spend a whole .88 for an mp3 at http://www.walmart.com ?

Can't give you a rational answer, so I'll try honest. The free stuff is always better. A free beer, a free ride, a free anything! Is always going to seem better than something you paid for. Now, if you go to jail getting it, then free ain't so free! Is it now? (I'm fond of the taste of a free beer. Better than the same beer if I paid for it. Why, I have no idea. Hope this helps.)

Asking this question is like questioning the rising of the tides...Free is better, do not ask why, just let it be.
