I used to be a goalie but now I'm a midfield and what really helped me was to not be scared of the ball and jumping. Then you need to come alittle closer to the srtriker to block their view and to cover some area (NOT in penalties though) Keep your eyes on the ball. At the same time, look at the way the striker has the ball on their feet.

Move a few steps closer to the kicker to block as much of the goal area behind you.

Freeze and don't move until the ball is kicked. This is a hard thing to do since instinct tells you to move before the ball is kicked.

Watch the kicker's foot just before the ball is kicked and, in time, you'll start seeing which direction the ball will go. Good luck! =)

alright...
you've seen those goalies do those dorky, crouched over, stances.
well they do it for a reason...
1. because guys look good doing it *grin*
and 2. because it helps you...
a. you're already in the position to spring out at the ball
b. it keeps you alert. cause you have to remember to be crouched.
c. it's even a sign. if you start doing it naturally, then you're getting better.

and of course all the other things.
keep your eye on the ball
have good eyes
don't be afraid of the ball
don't be afraid of getting dirty
or don't be afraid of pain..
etc

4- Learn with your mistakes.

well i was a goalie , when the opposition player is going to your way and is going to shoot, just get closer to him , so the goal will be smaller to the striker and u really have to grab the ball in any occasion... and dont be afraid of the ball ...
