actually, thats the purpose of birth control pills, to make you feel like you are pregnant. it causes you to gain weight, feel nausea & tired and it controls your period. my period came on like clock-work every month (every 4 weeks) and only lasted for a few days. that's why people say you shouldnt eat so much with the pills because they will make you think that you are hungry when you really isnt and causes you to gain weight

I am pretty sure that the pill is supposed to lighten your period and shorten it. If you read the insert that comes with them, it states some side effects are spotting and nausea. I would definitely speak to your doctor if you feel the same way in about a week or so. Your body just may not like the brand of pills you're on or the hormones in that brand, you can always try another brand... :) Good-luck.

Birth control pills can change the length and heaviness of your periods. You could also be coming down with something else. If you're not sure, take a pregnancy test.

I really get tired of seeing all these could I be pregnant even though im on birth control questions.
When you get BC pills it should have a paper with it which you are suppose to read EVERYTHING and in it it states that it is very possible for BC to fail so common sense tells you to use a condom.
My mother is a GYN and most of her young moms got pregnant on BC because they did not bother reading the darn paper that came with the BC pills.
I can not even begin to tell you how many friends I have who got pregnant on BC because they thought it was 100% effective and guess what, most of them have twins because BC increases your chances of having multiples.
My best friend is due in January with twins because she got pregnant on BC.

I found that since I started taking birth control pills(seven years ago), my periods were lighter and easier to deal with. I'd say this is all that's happening to you. Still, if you are worried, talk to you doctor.

Alot of the time bcp can make your period shorter, and lighter, also it can minimize cramps, so count your blessings and be happy it is shorter and lighter than normal. Also your period will now come exactly the same time every month if taken like supposed to.
