Does anyone know where the setting or setting for the movie Citizen Kane took place?

Reading a website, it mentions "Mr. Kane" was the editor of the New York Inquirer, but the home that is prominent is Xanadu, which I think I'm getting from another site was in Florida.
I haven't seen this movie in forever, so I decided to check it out. Maybe the sites can help you more with what you're looking for.

Kane's castle, Xanadu, was supposedly in Florida.
There were many similarities between Kane and William Randolph Hearst. Kane edited the New York Inquirer and Hearst had the San Francisco Examiner and New York Journal. Hearst had a castle in San Simeon, California. For more comparisons, go to http://www.filmsite.org/citi.html.
