djzlyric,whether or not you're a Native American,I should have worded it differently,even though that's a common phrase in this day and age.Let's try this,too many employees,not enough workers.

Start looking for someplace else. Those are generally disaster situations where the ax may come down on everybody.

I wish you could choose a different analogy. Chiefs are great and wise with age. I assume you are speaking of Native Americans. Real Indians are from India.

All the chiefs are so smart (they think) it is fun to watch them sit around and over-engineer absolutely everything, and waste the company's time and money over and over again ! The real fun is they do everything not twice, but 4 or 5 times. My boss reminds me to do things I taught him (years ago) on a daily basis.

Do you get 'job satisfaction' from performing your job, I do, thats how i deal with the "too many chiefs" situation.
I do my job to the best of my ability, when i feel that i am being as efficient and as helpful as possible it allows me to overcome the frustrations of petty office politics

Sounds like my job...you just recognize who the Big Chief is and do what he/she says...if anyone questions you , just say "well, lets see what the Big Chief has to say about this" and eventually they will leave you alone.
