No, it's all cobblers. I'd quite happily walk under a ladder, carrying three black cats, on Friday the 13th, any time. I don't have any superstitions, because when you sit down and analyse them, they're all utterly ridiculous, similar to astrology. In what possible way can walking under a ladder affect how my day will turn out? What does it matter where the moon was in the sky on the day I was born? In what way physically can that affect me?
It's been Friday the 13th today, unlucky supposedly for everyone, but I got to work early, had a decent day at the office, spoke to some interesting people and some attractive ladies, had a stress free drive home, played with my daughter for a while, my daughter (5) then told me she's never moving out into her own home even when she's married because she loves her mum and dad too much, and I'm now enjoying a cold glass of wine. To cap it all, the wife's gone out! Where's all my bad luck today?

Do you know the origin of the ``unluckiness`` of Friday the 13? In October 13, 1307 (a Friday) the Knight Templars were arrested, massacred, and branded as heretics. They order were so strong back then that the pope couldn't deal with them anymore. They were the founders of the modern day banking system. From this day onwards do people consider the day unlucky.
You see, all superstitions started at some point, and generations later they became folklore. But it always starts with one person or a small group experiencing something and they start to generalise from it.
To show you the other side of the argument as well, in ancient India, they have written a book purely on how to read the signs around us in nature, in other people and in animals. They would even go to such lenghts as: if a cat is shaking its left ear it is going to rain etc. These are the Shastra books. There are a few on different subjects. And again there is Feng Shui. Many consultants in Feng Shui are multimillionaires just from advising on beneficial or negative things for your room, and life. In China, most governmental buildings are still built on this very same science.
I think I got a bit carried away, hope you don't mind :-)

I live with a black cat, and she told me not to answer, but I'm going for it anyway. :)
I LOVE Friday the 13th because it's fun! Like the Twilight Zone fun. My niece was born on the 13th and she was so hoping my son would be, too, so he could have the Friday the 13th experience (nope - 12:22am on the 14th).
The only odd thing I have experienced on a Friday the 13th was moons ago - the sewers blew. Really! School was canceled, roads had to be repaired and it changed some routes through the University of Louisville campus. There was a gas build up and it resulted in some good size sink holes. Thankfully no one was hurt.

The superstition of Friday 13th comes from the papal edict to kill all Knights Templar which was to be opened and executed on a Friday 13th, in case anyone was wondering!

Friday the 13 is known as a bad day because of the killings done by a pope of an other of knights.......he thought that they where too power-full and had them all killed on the same day...Friday the 13......so i guess if you are not travelling the globe fighting for christian supremacy and keeping all the lute from your conquests you will be safe and no pope will come and get you

Friday the 13th is always my lucky day.
It's just bad luck because of events in history. I'll attach a link to show one of them. (It has to do with the Knights Templar being attacked on Friday the 13th.)

My mum does. She drove to work slower than usual this morning, she's checked everything that could possibly go wrong and fortunately nothing has! and do you know whats worse my mum has no religious beliefs so she doesn't believe there is a god out there who may condemn her for her sins yet she is one of the most superstitious people I know! Work that one out!

I don't. Tonight I went to see a play and we were upgraded to better seats. That was good luck.
