I don't generally initiate those types of conversations. I'll admit that I'm a rather cynical person and am suspicious of people who start talking to me on the street or at a very public event. I'm not one of those types who looks at every interaction as a possible "connection" to broaden my horizons and such. Just not me.
But if someone talks to me, I'll respond and try to be nice. Or if there's some weird event that just occurred and this person saw it to, I might make a comment about it to him/her.

Yes at the grocery store or any other public place... But sometimes it ends up into a long conversation with the little ol' lady you randomly run into and she just wants to talk your ear off.... LOL! I always listen attentively..... :o)

YES I'll be in the halls and I'll just randomly say something to someone...That's how I make friends lol
OooOOooOO but this one time that this guy my friend liked said hi to her in the hall (it was crowded, he didn't know he liked her, they were standing next to each other) she spazzed and thought that he liked her too, but he didn't........That didn't go well for her :(

Sometimes - depends on the situation and the mood. For instance, I talked to some weird lady last night trying to recruit people for Jesus. I admit, it was uncomfortable and she finally walked away irritated, but all in all, great fun.

yep sure do...y do you ask. Sometimes if I'm really bored I will....like for instance. Had to go to traffic 2 night ago. I was there for like 2 hrs it getting close to 9PM I need someway of staying awake so me and this girl started making fun of the elaborate stories you hear about "why I was speeding your honor....." We were sort of sitting in the back so the baliff and judge couldn't see us. I had no idea who she was....*shrug*

Or they look nervous and I feel in a gentle enough mood to be nice to them.
Or I'm single and come across a woman I find attractive on my travels.

All time I am right now, and did when I emailed you earlyer. If you are referring to live people I do that as well. I really enjoy talking to the bums and the crazies.
