Why are black cats so unlucky? I mean my favorite color is black,I love cats,my fav animal is a panther wich is black and part of the cat family.I have a black kitten and nothing happened to me.Dang the cat luck!!!!!

It's because at one point in time the Catholic church associated them with the Devil. It's the church that made them disguised witches, not the Pagans. They really didn't have cats, just look at the mythology, they're barely mentioned. I think it's because they're sneaky and can see in the dark and it was a Jewish practice. And in the Christian tradition anything black/dark was evil to balance out white/light as good and pure. The church actually used superstitions like this as a way to vilify anything not Christian and to control their congregations.
Oh, and to the guy before me having your business run in the black is really a good thing. It means you're out of debt and making a profit.

Everything that is labeled evil or superstitous is always because of the color black whether it me black people, your business is running in the black, black magic, black cats, witches wear black etc.

I believe it is deals with the pagan religion in which black cats were witches in disguise or were evil spirits roaming the earth in that disguise.
