It is not known where the MSN Messenger 6.3 rumour started, but MSN 6.3 has not been released as of this date. MSN Messenger 6.3 is not expected to be released as the next update after 6.2 was the 7.0 release. Although security patches will continue to be released to support MSN 6.2, there is no evidence that MSN Messenger version 6.3 will ever be released.

Many rumours and ideas have been passed around regarding MSN 8.0, but there is currently no official release date or confirmation of MSN 8. Some links to download MSN Messenger 8.0 have also been distributed, care should be taken as these links will not actually download MSN 8.0, and may contain viruses and other malicious software.

There have reports of links to download MSN Messenger 7.2 (beta) being passed around on the internet. The simple answer is: MSN Messenger 7.2 is not in BETA and will never be released as the new version of MSN Messenger will be 7.5 (Which went into BETA in late July 2005), and not MSN 7.2.
Such links offering the downlod of MSN 7.2 can be found via spam and rogue websites, which use this link offering a free download of MSN Messenger 7.2 beta to lure an unsuspecting user to download a malicious file. There have also been reports of such sites offer MSN Messenger 7.2 and 7.3 which require the user to input their MSN Messenger Passport details before gaining the download. You should never enter your username and password when using any such websites!
