I think it takes place in the disntant future (5 years maybe) and thats why there is a desert area. there probably in middle of a war. what do u think

A Kingdom Hearts III has already been confirmed by Tetsuya Noruma. It won't be for a while yet but Sora and Riku will NOT make a return.

Well my guess for those three knights would probably be Sora, Riku and Kairi. I don't know, your guess is as good as mine. I agree about the game taking place in a keyblade war in the future.
