My sister just had brand new windows installed in her home and all the windows sweat on the inside. Bad enough that it looks like your bathroom mirror when you get out of a hot shower. I want to know if anyone knows what causes this. Is it a problem with the windows themselves or the seal or what?

the seal has been broken and the gas between the panes has leaked out get them back to replace it and question all the windows I bought a house that had the same problem with one window and by the end of the year all of them went bad. If you can go with a top name manufacturer. Marvin,Pella because this is a manufacturers defect but if the windows are cheap it the installers fault for taking advantage of you.

it is caused by condensation. it happens with my new windows too. after a few weeks when it stays cold outside and the outside walls get and stay cold, the problem will more then likely go away. also when you use the bathroom, or cook and or wash with boiling or hot water, run the exhaust fan and leave on for an hour or so so the humidity you have put into the air gets vented out. also run a dehumidifier if the windows get real bad. that will also help.

One friend boiled water to sterilize baby bottles and she made her windows steam up. Is your sister boiling water -- even leaving it too long boiling for coffee or tea -- or does she run a humidifier?
Just a thought. But definitely talk to the company who installed them. May be the seal or ??

If the sweat in on the inside of the glass, it's humid in your house. If the sweat is between the panes of the glass, it's a bad seal.

That is caused by improper installation. She should contact whoever put them in and have them fix it. It's caused by condensation forming because of different air temperatures.
