No one in here can diagnose cancer for you. Only a doctor can after they perform diagnostic tests. You could have a minor condition or you could have a serious problem. Either way the only way to be certain is to go see a doctor. Now.

If it is a serious problem, the sooner you get it treated, the better the outcome. And if it's not a serious problem, you'll feel a lot better for knowing.

Ok, first of all, you're only 24 years old, which makes the risk of breast cancer extremely low.

Secondly, breast lumps caused by cancer are generally painless. Painful breast lumps are usually due to non-cancerous problems.

You really need to describe the lump more before I can tell you anything further. For example, is the lump soft or hard? Does it feel quite smooth, or is the surface of it really lumpy? Can you feel the edges of it? Does the lump move, or does it seem like it is attached to the muscles underneath the breast? Does the lump change size with your menstrual cycle? Are there any changed on the skin - dimpling of the skin for example? Do you have any discharge from the nipple?

I would need to examine you to be able to diagnose you correctly, however I want to reassure you that it's HIGHLY unlikely that you have cancer. And I DO know what I'm talking about. If you are worried about the lump, go and see your doctor, who will be able to examine you and reassure you.

Edit: what someone else said about mammograms is not true. Mammograms aren't useful in detecting breast cancer in young women because the breast tissue is naturally more dense. If your doctor DID send you for some kind of diagnostic imaging, it would be an ultrasound scan.

you need to see a doctor immediately, that is the biggest sign of cancer, you should start getting mammography exams once a year. If it is in your genes it is uncommon to have it in you twenties, but the major age is past 40. Go to the doctor, take care of yourself, and good luck. by the way if it is cancer everyday counts, you want to get it removed right away.

honestly i dont know but i think you should go to the doctor because if it is cancer you dont want it to get worse and spreaD TO OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY, but anybody @ any age could get cancer, so just go to the doctor, even though i doubt it is...its better to be safe than sorry!!...good luck
