I believe most cycles are 21 or 28 days which are multiples of 7 days ie a week

Nothing could be based on a Women's minstrel cycle as there is no common point among woman to base any thing on as there are so many Woman and they all have different cycles but that's just my thought and whats that worth ??? A good question ! A mystery to be pondered for the ages I think.

Oh good Lord no! Every calendar is based on solar cycles primarily, and secondarily lunar cycles.

I think they are both set around lunar phases. In other words, set to the time of the moon.
