I asked that question last week. Surprisingly the answer that I got was that everyone loved it.

They were doing what they wanted, when they wanted, and they had enough money to do anything. I thought it was odd because when I talk to people in person who are retired most of them wish they had planned better and saved more to make retirement more comfortable. I wonder if the ones I usually speak to had to sell their computers to pay for gasoline and the luckier ones who are still on Yahoo are the only answerers that are still available.

It all depends on what you consider "retired". I've been retired from my first career for almost five years now but am far from retired. Even though I don't have to work or need the money, I still work about 60 hours a week. It's a personal choice that everyone needs to make for themselves.

If you're one of those "go getters" who gets up and on the go all the time you might find it a bit numb at times. Or dull or even fullfilling. It's probably all going to be about what you're attracted to. Have you thought about doing something different after retirement? Have you considered Network Marketing? It is a great way to earn money working from your own home as your own boss. Ever heard of Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad Poor Dad? He has another book called "The Business School" and he talks a lot about network marketing strategies and getting on the right side of the cash flow quadrant. That's what I did when I started my own business at http://www.mywayoutonline.com/ access code 108306 that is a new division of a billion-dollar international company that is listed on the New York Stock exchange. If you have a big enough dream, you can achieve anything :)
Good luck on your endeavor!

All my friends who went to work for the government or as schoolteachers are retiring, many on full salary and benefits. I can't imagine it, although if I continued doing the meaningful work I do as a volunteer I would probably be happy. Why not also get paid for it?

being retired is nice that one can stay home and do what they want to do...the money is sometimes a problem in stretching over the month.... i would keep working until the company wants to to retire, if i had the chance to do it over ......

Spray the cracks with weed and grass killer that will take care of it growing back at least for the season. Spray weed killer on the weeds in the yard, Look at your homeowners association rules and regulations to see if anything is said about lawn and driveway maintance. If there is nothing in it regarding these issues let them know that they are harassing you. If they continue to harass you start documenting how many times they call and at what times they call and contact a lawyer
