I have to do a song for the talent show. I would prefer something either emotionally moving like Sarabeth, or else one that's really hip and upbeat. A song that has good vocals, is good for a girl (but guys would like it, too) one like a dixie chicks, but not them, cuz not eveybody likes them! X3

That is hard to answer without a little more information. What is your vocal range...are you soprano, alto, tenor or bass? Are you an adult or a child? Are you a girl/woman or a boy/man? Who is your audience? Choosing a good audition song is as important as the performance itself.

If you give more information, I could give a better answer. I'm a elementary music teacher and I help kids with these kinds of questions all the time but I need to know more about you and your audience. So would anyone trying to give you the best idea on the internet.

I'd choose a song that you could use later for an audition piece if you would like to be in theater. Have you thought about something you could lip sync? Get with a group of kids, dress up like your favorite group and lip sync with air guitar...this is always a hit for raw entertainment. Even if you do it badly but it can be recognized, people will almost certainly laugh.

This is a great project...go break a leg! I wish it was me!!

hmm... my suggestions for you is to have like other people singing with you, but just as backround singers or something. and maybe act something out that's funny because guys usually like stuff like that. and try to dance in it too. the song is all up to you because i don't really know of any. (i'm sorry i didn't actually answer your question, but at least you have an idea)

" I will follow him " that was used in Sister Act, starring Whoopi Goldberg. We acted out the moves, dressed in nuns habits and livened up the beat a little. WE WON FIRST PLACE!

This may sound weird but do a female version of Leaving on a Jet Plane.

I heard a girl do this 3 years ago and it left the room amazed and she won !

I never would have guessed a song that old would sound so good sung by someone new. Put your own sound into it.

Do something retro but add a new sound/beat to it.

Half the people will think the retro song is a new song that you made wrote and the other half will be amazed how cool the retro song they remember sounds now with you singing it.

The song LEAVING ON A JET PLANE is an emotional song about what it feels like for a famous music artist to have to travel all the time and leave to one they love to go out and tour for their fans. That is the emotional part. This famous person works for years to get to the top and when they are finnally there they find someone that they love so much that they don't want to leave at 5AM in the morning to catch a plane to go tour.

All my bags are packed,
I'm ready to go
I standing here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye

But the dawn is breaking,
its early morn
The taxi waiting he's blown his horn
Already I'm so lonesome, I could die

So kiss me and smile for me,
tell me that you'll wait for me.
Hold me like you'll never let me go...

Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go...

There is so many times I've let you down
There is so many times I've played around
I telll you now, they don't mean a thing

Every place I go I'll think of you
Every song I sing I'll sing for you
when I come back,
I'll bring your wedding ring

So kiss me and smile for me,
tell me that you'll wait for me.
Hold me like you'll never let me go...

Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go...

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time, let me kiss you
Close your eyes, I'll be on my way

Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times I won't have to say...

OH kiss me and smile for me,
tell me that you'll wait for me.
Hold me you'll never let me go...

Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go...

I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go...

Dream about the days to come
