Implantation of a fertilized ovum into the uterus occurs about 5 to 7 days after fertilization [which takes place in the fallopian tube, at it's widest point, the fimbria]. Although not common, some women do experience very light bleeding or spotting associated to implantation. A blood serum test {quantitative HCG}, can detect the presence of this pregnancy hormone {HCG= Human Chorionic Gonadotropin} as early as 72 hours after fertilization takes place; that's even before the fertilized ovum reaches the uterus and implantation takes place. As for home pregnancy test kits, First Response Early Result can accurately detect HCG as early as 4 days before a missed period in 69% of cases, 3 days before your period's due in over 83% of cases, and 2 days before in 93% of cases. If you wait for the day you expect your period to test, you'll get accurate results 99% of the time. I hope that my advise has been of help; best wishes, and good luck to you. Implantation bleeding usually happens about a week after you're pregnant so I guess a week would be enough time to show up positive. Well, depending on what test you get.

You have to have implantation bleeding and then they say that about 8 to 12 days, it will show positive. (should)

implantation bleeding takes place 6-10 days after conception, so it's very likely.
