They're good but quite overrated, I can name a dozen better bands than them. My favourite are the Smashing Pumpkins. :)

No band is my faverite. It is hard to say whether it is one of my top 10, but I would it place among my 20 most favourite rock groups. I would probably put Iron Maiden to the top.

Nirvana makes the top ten somewhere around 6-8.
Aerosmith makes #1 all time due to amount of material produced and span of career.

No, damn it! Nirvana destroyed all what was happening in the world that time. Great things like heavy metal, power metal, and other kinds of pure feeling! It was the first sad, depressive band in the world! Better angry, in love, happy, scared, than depressive!!! Depression takes you at the line between life and death (see Kurt Cobain)!!! Loosers!

definitely not top 10. i like some of their stuff (and i'm like you, i LOVE the peppers)
but there's so many other bands better than nirvana
