This "stand up" thing may be true. He believes in a backwards fashion that he is acting presidential.

The problem is that Americans just don't see it that way, and he is ignoring them out of some sort of religious fervor.

Voters are beginning to get the fact that out of all the billions of people on this planet, God would have picked anyone else, other than GWB, to carry his message.

It has to do with the 'good ole boy' image that the 'Republican Machine' around him spent years developing. Btw, that term 'Republican Machine' is an actual term used in Washington to describe the ppl who got Bush Jr to the presidency.

Ppl tend to respect ppl they will oppose others for what they believe in even when they disagree. Take McCain for example. Did you know McCain is farther to the right than even Bush? Yes he is. BUT more ppl like him. Why? Because he has a reputation of standing up for what he believes in even when that belief opposes his own party.

When you look at Bush's record, you clearly see that he defines the word 'flip-flopper'. For example, just yesterday in a press conference he was re-defining the term 'stay the course' to now mean 'changing directions when you see the one you are headed on isn't working.'

Sure that sounds good right... but that is NOT what he was saying just last month, last year or even 2 years ago during the last election.

What you are dealing with is a people that are the most mentally diminished of the population, I can prove my point, they voted not once but twice for a coke snorting, alcoholic, with no morals. What is worse are the ones that are still supporting them, those people have no morals or ethic's either.

Because he doesn't make his decisions based on polls, and isn't afraid to do something that may be unpopular. It's not his job to be fighting in Iraq. Name one President who's ever fought whilst in office.

Because he pretty much is! Pop up books is part of your delusion as a Bush hater. Is there an intelligent Democrat that can say something without disparages? Maybe backup their remarks with something not made up?

It's the best spin the Republicans can put on Bush's stubborness, arrogance, inflexibility, intellectually laziness and inability to see beyond his crooked nose.

Cause he does stand up for what HE believes in, doesn't mean everyone else believes it or not... but he won't back down for what HE believes in. He doesn't care if the only people that believe in him are his wife and his dog, he will still stand up for what HE believes in

love it: he doesn't talk about whether what he did was wrong or mis-judged but as long as he stands up for it, that's ok. saddam and bin laden stand up for what they believe too. (well, saddam hid down a hole)
