Gahndi gave the world the concept of 'Non-Violent Civil Disobedience.' This concept is that people will ban together in a peaceful way and not fallow a just law. A good example of this in his life is when he did the march to the sea to get salt.
He also effected the world by being a role model of non-violence. He influenced such people suck as Martin Luther King Jr, who later turned out to lead the civil rights movement.
Gahndi also made people aware of what was going on in South Africa through his fasting and peaceful protests. If you want more email me. I did a whole report on this subject last year and I know a lot!

In his effort to free India from British rule, Pakistan was created and the Muslims that had help kick out the British moved to Pakistan and the Hindus that were in Pakistan moved south. What if there was no Pakistan? How would that effect today's world? Would terrorism in that area be better or worse? Where would Osama bin Laden be hiding? If there was no Pakistan, there would not be a fight for Kashmir - or would there be? What do you think?

I watched the events of that morning unfold on television while sitting on the edge of my bed, my hands cradling my nearly- nine-months pregnant belly. Before hearing from someone that I needed to get up and turn on the television, I was preparing to wish my three year old son a very Happy Birthday. Like most everyone, I was in complete shock. My son had a great birthday regardless and I had a beautiful healthy son a week later but I want our country to be a safer place, regardless of what it will take. Secure our borders and deport anyone who is anti-American. Freedom of Speech only applies to those that believe in our country and way of life. Also, to those that I hear say "I don't want to be reminded" I say this to you...If we do not remember the past, we are doomed to repeat it. Case in point: they had bombed one of the towers prior to 9/11 and they still aren't finished with us yet.

Looking at today,he really has no effect because there are people out in the world still using violence instead of communication. His teachings only work on people who wanted to listen, and no one has taken his teachings into act today.
