i think she'll be really good. she's got that whole beautiful, persuading thing going on. BUT omg i am so angry that they are calling i the golden compass. phillip pullman is english CALL it by it's english!(northern lights for those who are interested) i'm so excited though! i absolutely adore those books and i can't wait to see how iorek byrninson turns out. AND SERAFINF PEKKALA!!!!!!!!! don't go getting me all excited, i won't sleep!

i love the books and i like Nicole Kidman but it should be left alone! any real life film with talking animals is going to be ****, end of story. There is no way with any animation technique including computer graphics that you can make a talking animal look good on film. Its great in the imagination and they're some of the best books i've ever read (even though i'm 24 and iv'e read a LOT of books) but it can not be reproduced on film. I'm particularly dreading the Amber Spyglass film.

I'm halfway through The Amber Spyglass,i read Northern Lights and The Subtle Knife in record time.Excellent books but im not sure it will translate well on the big screen....could be rather confusing.
Wonder who is going to play Ivorek Byrnison the armoured bear?haha

Yeah, I can totally see that! She's glamorous and beautiful enough, and I'm sure she can pull off the cold, haughty aspect. I just hope the script isn't too cheesy/melodramatic. There's potential for it to be really poignant.

Play's her in what? I hope somebody isn't making a movie about that anorexic, horse-faced, hateful, tranny psycho. If they do, they should cast Jennifer Aniston, because they kind of look alike.
