im trying to decide if i really want to go to veterinary school or just take my zoology/animal behavior degree and do something else when i'm done with college. but i want to be able to have a steady job and make a decent amount of money. what other options besides veterinary school do i have with a zoology degree?

i mean careers in terms of like, working in a lab, working in a zoo, field experiments...what kinds of things can i do with a zoology degree? and how much do those things typically pay?

with a zoology degree you can work as a zookeeper in a zoo, or some other position in a zoo...education, etc., or you can work as a biologist for the government, a non-profit, or consultant firm, or you can work in a lab doing research. Zookeeper don't make that much, depends on the area you are located, but working as a biologist can pay quite well also depending on who your work for.

Ethology; behavioral ecology; sociobiology and parts of genetics, such as population genetics. The salaries would vary widely; perhaps a basement of forty thousand a year. The conditions would vary widely also. From extreme field conditions, to lab work. Vet schools are very choosy, as you probably know.
