Search the web for a reputable agency in your area. Scedule a meeting with the agency and let them audition the child. Do not let them leave your sight with your child. Some agencies do not handle child talent, but some specialize in it. There should be a film commission in the largest city near you. For example, in Dallas, there is one whose website is www.filmdfw.com. They offer a lot of helpful advice to those looking to get into the industry. It may even help you regardless of your location.

I think you have to contact an organization by the name of ACTRA, and find out from them what to do, or if you need to take some courses from them etc. ACTRA is an organization for actors and actresses.
