cer798,I think I have your name right. Have you been living in a closet? Since when have we lived in a society where mothers drowned, microwaved, and threw babies in the dumster? Things like this HAVE happened in the past, but NEVER on this scale. Your ARE young. Look around you, an wake up and smell the coffee.

Yes very much so. We have young women walking around in next to nothing leaving nothing to the imagination. The same women want respect yet don't understand why they don't get it. We have more and more men and women commenting crimes and getting a way with cause mommy and daddy didn't hug them enough. I think people need to be held accountable for there action and the parents who let there kids stay out at all hours of the night should get some kind of punishment too. It is time Parents stop bailing out there kids and let them take responsibility for there action. That is just my opinion on this subject and no i don't remember when the world had morals. I hope I have answered your question efficiently.

No, I don't think society's really sick minded. I'm young, and I have morals. I know lots of people who have morals. People have been saying "society is really sick minded" for hundreds of years. In the late 18th century, older generations said society was sick minded because of the rise of Deism and because fashions for women had turned from hooped and bewigged confections to filmy gowns that didn't require full corsets. People said society was sick minded when women got the vote and when hemlines rose above the ankle. People said society was sick minded when rock and roll was started and when it became acceptable for women to wear pants (can you tell that I love fashion history?). In twenty years, I'll probably be saying the same thing. Older generations have always criticized younger generations for having different ideas regarding religion, government, and even fashion and music. Having different ideas and doing different things than your parents doesn't mean that young people don't have morals.

(PS- I know that my argument focuses on conflicts between young vs. old, but young people are usually who people think of when they say "society is really sick minded". That's probably due to the prevalence of 20- to 30-somethings in pop culture.)

There's still morals, you just have to know where to look. You won't find them in the media or on the internet, that's for sure.

Yes.....it should be mandatory to make children watch Leave it to Beaver and Andy Griffith. There were some valuable lessons in those old shows.
