All of the apparatus for physical pain are contained in the nerves and skin, which would die with the body, though I don't doubt there is some sort of post death trauma assosiated with dying. Perhaps there is some sort of office you can go to after death for help, like in beetlejuice

They went to the "light" and saw their friends and relatives that were "on the other side" and experienced only good things. Feelings and pain are the products of the body's nerve system... once you leave the body, you leave the responses to the sensations of your nerve system behind. You are still able to have emotional reactions, but not pain sensations.
