i have been studying brakes in the Motor Age ASE preperation test.
I also have been working at my dads shop for 3 years so i have experience with brakes hands on. Im only 15 and becoming ASE master certified by the time i graduate is one of my goals. so will they let me take the test and if i pass will i be legally certified?

you can check on the ASE website.. i was told that it was 18 and minimum of 2 years of experience and some formal training will apply to the experience..

There is no minimum age to test, and as long as you can prove two years experience in brake system repair, you can become certified as soon as you test and get the results. Good luck.

EDIT: Note to poster below. My son was ASE B2 certified at the age of 16 and Master Collision Repair at the age of 18. Just because most kids don't do it, doesn't mean it can't be done.

no age limit to test, study hard must work two years full time to receive patches u can do it kid go for i would go by the local community college that offers auto tech classes or barns and nobel.com and buy the ase test books because it 50 bucks a test plust the master master tech is not easy good luck

I would assume so as I don't recall any age barriers. Best thing to do is go online and check out the ASE requirements.

well if ase certification is important to you,Im quite sure you can take the test and if you pass you will earn your certificate.the main thing with those people is they want their fee.you will have to pay to take the test.get together with your ac delco retailer in town and you can probally find out when the next test is availableps they also provide classes on the net

you have to be 16 year old since they require a driver license and a credit card

I couldn't find a age requirement, but you do have to pay for the test.
