... Because he knows what SIZE it is supposed to be, and what the Texture of a healthy Gland is ....... Any differences in either of those, and there is SOME kind of problem, even if it is only Benign ............

A normal prostate feels like the spongy part of flesh between your thumb and finger, a diseased prostate feels hard like your knockle. And of course if the doc presses on it and the pt screams, well then its probably infected. :)

lol, it is unpleasent indeed, I was told that I have to feel a hundred to know normal from abnormal, I feel confident to say what I have to since I have done quite a few hundreds by now, maybe more than a thousand in the last 10 years! good luck

Prostrate glands are the same size for everyone, and they need to feel it to check for problems, it's not like shoe sizes where everyone's is different lol

He is checking to see if it is enlarged. He can't necessarily judge whether there is a problem by feeling it alone. He would probably send you for tests.

He's feeling to see if it's enlarged or pressing on any other organs.
Maybe he's feeling to see if you'll buy him dinner. lol

my dr.checks mine and he sees if its enlarged and has any bumps on it and mine is fine,thank god.
