Yesterday, I was on the computer and everything looked normal....came in last night and color is completely wrong!!! No 'true white'...It's almost a greyish pink.....yellow is almost bright orange, no purple what so ever....blue is a teal color!! I have checked all of my color options in the display section, but nothing seems to be changed. I have also checked the buttons on the actual monitor and they are not helping at all! I bought this computer brand new last december....should my monitor already be going out?? It's been less than a year!!! Someone told me it was my monitor gone bad because I have a picture slide show as the screen saver......they said it eats up my monitor!! Is this true?? I also turn my monitor off at night as not to 'burn' it up. If someone can tell me what's going on, I would appreciate it......or rather my eyes would appreciate it!!

It could be a hardware problem, but the first thing I would do is change your monitor settings. Change to 16 bit color or even less to see if that fixes anything. If not, try reinstalling your video drivers. You can also try booting into Windows Safe mode (reboot while holding down the F8 key). Safe mode will revert to generic VGA drivers which should show you if the colors are then correct.

Actually a moving screen saver is good to your monitor, it keeps it from burning a certain image into the screen ... but it seems that there is something wrong with the monitor ... make sure that the monitor is not near to any magnetic field, like speakers

have you recently downlaoded any new games from the internet? This happened to my husband once, it turned our monitor almost black! We had to actually go into our computer and reset it for a month earlier, if you have been backing up the system or it is on automatic backup you should be fine. Good Luck! If this doesn't work try calling tech support.

Many CRT monitors (that's the big, bulk ones) have a feature called "de-gaussing". Check your monitor's menu and/or reference manual (or look online for the manual) to see if you have this feature. Sometimes this will remove discoloration from the screen.
Also, if you have any magnetic devices operating near the monitor (e.g. speakers), move them away from the monitor and see if that helps. Again, that only applies to CRT monitors, not LCD, Plasma, OLED, etc.

Just find the menu button on your monitor, and find the restore defaults option.
if you cant, just mess around with the colors and everything until it gets close to normal

The birth of Always Good. Madam, the troubles are really troubles, no doubt but madam, the troubles are the teachers of life. we learn more from troubles. you can believe the no man than yes man. no man actually giving guidance by opposing vehemently from there we are learning lessons. if yes man simply agrees where from we have no opportunity to learn lessons. @Asker, please clarify my doubts before closing or finalising the question. what is the meaning to this please. '' Both the troubles vanish as only diamond can cut a diamond.''. what is connection in vanishing troubles with diamond cutting madam? please do justice. @Asker: Thank you. I also thank Mr veers for providing link to substantiate his claim.
