well if it has a firewall built in limeware can get you viruses that wreck key files on windows a friends computer wouldn't boot from a virus from limewire. u can probaly use zome alarms firewall to stop a lot of unwanted trash from it

Mcafee is not a good virus scan anyhow, but if it was going to protect your computer from viruses it would indeed get rid of the ones from limewire.

It will not prevent viruses unless Mcafee has the virus identified. Always be careful downloading files from the Internet.
And a firewall will not prevent a virus that you download as suggested above.

it should do, when you are downloading from limewire if the file contains a virus limewire tells you the file is corrupt and gives you the option to stop downloading the file
