You could be having electrolysis to get rid of it gradually.

The cause is hormonal imbalance. A reduction in female hormones after menopause can cause some hair growth (lack of female hormones is the reason men have facial hair). If it's really bothersome you could do some hormone replacement. Otherwise you can pluck, shave and wax like all other women have to do eventually. Sorry!

A friend of mine has a similar problem that you have. If you go to see your general Dr and explain this problem I do know there is a medication(s) out there that may help. I do not know the med off the top of my head but you might want to search WebMd.com

Hope this helps

I have this problem and am only 35. I went to my dermatologist and he put me on Spironolactone. I had my thyroid checked, normal. He wants me to have an ultrasound done on my ovaries next month to see if I have a cyst. He may refer me to an endocronolgist (SP?) I am considering laser.

It means that you have to much testosterone. I know that there are many people that have to much of that. And having to much, it can over stimulate hair growth. I know that you can go to a doctor and they can balance you out. Here is some more info.

Have you ever had your thyroid checked? an out of wack thyroid can cause facial hair. Women often have thyroid problems in middle age or older. I actually have an over active one.
