Lay a paper bag over it and run a hot iron over the paper bag until the wax melts into the bag. It works great!

Hi
There is two ways to remove wax from carpet. 1/ Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can .Use a dry clean white terrycloth place it over the wax spot then heat it with a iron on low setting because most homes have polyester carpet, and if the iron gets too hot, it'll melt the carpet. Keep checking the spot every ten seconds or so, moving the terrycloth so that a clean spot is on the carpet.

2/ Which is the better way. Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can Heat up a full kettle of water and pour it slowly on the carpet at the same time with a wet vac vacuum up the water. Keep on doing this until the wax is removed.

Place a damp tea towel on the spot and iron gently on a medium setting. The wax should cling to the damp towel.
You may want to gently scrape as much of the wax up before you iron too. Especially if you are dealing with light carpeting and dark pigmented wax - Otherwise, the dye from the wax could get heat-set into the fibers of your carpet.

Several good answers here and logic says most will work. I personally take a very hot wash cloth (warmed in the microwave) and place on the spot. Then clean up the wax as it gets soft--may have to do this a couple of times!

Try using a hair dryer on the hottest setting, melting the wax and picking up with a papaer towel - pieces deep in the pile can be picked out with a comb. It's tedious but it works.

Scrape as much off as you can with a knife-Cover with a paper towel place an iron on towel low heat. Do not leave unattended. Move the towel as it soaks up wax. May take more than one towel.

Are you serious? I just split some on my hardwood floor! What a coincidence! I just a spackling knife to get it up, but you might want to wet the floor with water.
Ice cubes or a hot wash cloth are also a good help.

Place a piece of ice on it and it should harden the wax. It should peel off easily.
