it involves both sexes. And in my opinion, its a sign of weakness within the person itself which can be anything from low self esteem to pure egotistical characteristics but anyone who cheats on their spouses in my eyes, are a waste of space and a bad excuse of a human being!! If they have no respect for their spouses, they obviously have no respect for themselves!!

I remember years ago when Men were well known for cheating. Now a days I see many women having affairs. I guess times have changed but I agree w/most of the answers here which state that it's a HUMAN trait.

Well I agree with most of these people, it is a human trait, men and women alike cheat....it's not gender specific. I also disagree with some of the people. But some people aren't happy unless they are passing judgement on other. I have been cheated on over the years.......I am 34 years old and a year ago was the very first time I EVER cheated....am I weak? maybe according to some............
Anyways, sometimes men and women cheat for different reasons, but sometimes the reasons are very much alike.

I think it's a HUMAN trait, that stems from desire......like from not having a want or 'need' met.....or being overall unhappy.
I can't say it's easier for men because I know physical plays a big role with them.......
but then for women, emotional plays a big role, and faced with the perfect man at the perfect time who is willing to be that knight in shining armor..........a woman would crumble just as easily.

It is a HUMAN trait. It shows up in weak humans. They don't have the morals to live life as they should. They don't care about others because they are too busy worrying about whether they are happy or not. Mature people don't act like this. Mature people care about others and also will honor and vows they take to be loyal.

A human trait. Females are more prepared to suppress it through insecurity.

In nature its instinctually endowed in men to cheat because. according to survival of the fittest, a male is specifically made to spread his seed to ensure the continuation of their species. As opposed to females whos nature is to find the best possible mate, to produce the best offspring, ( this is to ensure also the survival of that species) because in nature the weakest and less attractive were less likely to survive and less likely to find a mate... Although as human beings we also have free will, we can decide against our true nature and stay true to our mate. Females and Males both cheat, by nature the male species was made to not be with one specific mate for the rest of their lives but that doesnt mean that it doesnt happen. Both men and women have free will, if they truely love the one they are with they can fight against those urges out of love for that person and stay faithful to that one specific person...
