Iran has everything to do with mideast confilct. they are the one's that are making the iraq war so hard. they pay and send troops and weapons to iraq just to kill US troops or anyone else.they don't want iraq to be control by the US because they know they are next.

Iraq and Iran were going to base oil value on the euro rather then the dollar and that is bad news for some oil companies. Iraq and Iran house the oil the world will need at the end of oil so some oil companies want to make sure they are the oil companies that will stay rich as long as possible and are willing to use a countries military to achieve the agenda. We are going into Iran soon, the Eisenhower fleet should be off the coast of Iran by the end of the month. I think if the Republicans think they are going to loose the midterms they will move in just before the elections.

For years Iran and Iraq were at war, and, partly due to the hostage situation, the US backed Iraq with arms and supplies against the people who took Americans hostage.
As a way to keep the area in friction, Iran is sending its freedom fighters, across the border and they along with Syrians, are most of the terrorists who are blowing themselves and others up.
If Iraq fails, Iran stands to win really big and they want as much trouble over there as they can cause. They don't want the infidels (Americans of non Islamic beliefs) to win and put a Democracy in place in there back Yard.

Well, it borders on Iraq and even though they don't share the language, they are predominantly an Islamic country. They were definitely a thorn during the Carter presidency after the Shaw of Iran was granted asylum here in the U.S. and they took the hostages from our embassy(1979) and never released them until Reagan was inaugurated in January of 1980.
I think the biggest problem may lie in their ability to secure arms from Russia, China, or North Korea and smuggle them across the border of Iraq to use against our troops.

I'm surprised, everyone has forgotten to mention Ayatollah Khomeini the father of the Islamic revolution back in 79, what we call today radicial islam, the stuff you guys trying to fight remember. Wow, you Americans realy hated that guy back in the 80's. Thats when the American government sold chemicial and Biological weapons to Saddam to use against Iran, Rummsfeld was there to seal the deal with Saddam. Any of this ringing a bell. So today they are finanicing terrorist groups, and building nukes but it all started Khomeini.

david b's answer is a joke, right? hams in iraq? lol
big question, small answer: it has gained substantially in the area recently because of failed US occupation of iraq and also israel's lack of success in lebanon.
the wider mideast problem, especially israel, has not involved iran on any significant (overt) level. it has never given clear support to the palestinians.
with the US in an iraqi-quagmire, iran is flexing its muscles. if the US brokered a just palestinian peace, much of the trouble would be dealt with.

look at a map- should be fairly self explanatory
for a long time Iran fought with Iraq-- basically over who was going to have power in the region. since international forces have knocked the sh+t out of Iraq, they have kinda given Iran a helping hand. Ie if troops weren't in Iraq, the Iranians would probably take the opportunity to walk in to the country.therefore they are using the Iraq situation to become more powerfull.

Personally, I'd say you have mentioned the very country that has been at the heart of unrest in the Middle East for a very long time. Fundamentally I think that the problem in the Middle East is Islam itself. With Islam, you have a religious system that demands that you adhere to it's tenants or die. Anyone that does not agree with Islam or is not a Muslam is by definition...an infidel. As I know it and according to the Koran, infidels should be killed. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself. That's why there will never be peace in the Middle East.

Iran and syria and helping hezbollah and other islamic nations. I must say this but shias are more united then sunnis. Sunnis mainly dont care about palestine and lets israel destroy them on the other hand iran, syria, and lebanon are trying to help palestine although israel and america might attack them. the world is becoming dangerous for america since they are a world leader. LOL i suck at politics :P
