two ways i know of... first, you can use one of the "record what you hear" softwares .. theres several ... and secondly i personally use dbpoweramp with their mp4 codec but its not free anymore ... you may be able to find an older version of the app for free or get that app or "adobe audition" from a filesharieng site...

iTunes will do it, but it requires some setup. You don't have to be on a mac. Go to Edit | Preferences | Advanced and pick the Importing tab. Change the thing that says "Import Using" to say MP3 instead of AAC (note, you will want to change it back to AAC when you are done). The just select the songs you want to convert, right click with the mouse, and select Convert to MP3. When it is done, you will have both M4P and MP3 files in the same directory. You can then move the MP3 files somewhere else and delete them from iTunes, then change iTunes back to say AAC, not MP3, on the importing tab.

Apple has put super security into the songs that people buy off their store. There is no way to convert it to mp3. However, if you want to share it with a friend, you can copy and the .m4p file and send to him/her, and then when she puts it into her itunes library,

itunes will say "Would you like to activate this file for this computer" and then she/he should click yes. You can do this on up to 5 computers!!

Just an idea... try converting to wav file to record onto cd for playback in an old fashioned cd player... then import back into i tunes but set sytem to record in mp3 instead of default mp4 then you can do what you like with it ie ringtones etc..
good luck.

in case you are able to desire to take the audio record off the disc, you need to use CD ripping utility which includes appropriate Audio replica. in case you nonetheless have the audio record on your laptop, then you extremely would be wanting a converter. format production facility is a unfastened converter that may convert lots of of categories of archives. It converts video clips, music, photos, and it could additionally be used as a CD ripper (its less difficult than appropriate Audio replica yet does not have as many advantageous properties)
