I have a pontiac, mercury villager and a hyundai which have experienced the same engine light problem. I think it has something to do with the emissions. However to temporarily put off the light(If it bothers you), remove the positive terminal of your car battery, turn the ignition key on, step on the brake for about 10 seconds, and put back the battery terminal. Hope it does the same wonders.

Sometimes if you don't tighten your gas cap, the check engine light will come on. Make sure when you tighten the gas cap that you hear it click acouple of times. Other than that, AutoZone tech should have helped you out more. Good Luck.

yeah, this is known as an EVAP code. heres what you do. Open the gas door, tighten the gas cap and drive the car for about 100 miles to reset the OBD2 computer. the lite will go out by then... That was EZ
good luck..........

check for a faulty connection at the charcoal purge canister soliniod valve (on fender)...sometimes just unpluging it and pluging it back in will re-establish a good connection..
