Alcohol can dehydrate the body. Your body needs adequate levels of salts and electrolytes — minerals such as sodium and potassium — in order to maintain the electric currents that keep your heart beating. Disruption of your body's fluid and mineral levels creates an electrolyte imbalance. Unless restored by replacing fluids and drinking an electrolyte mixture, this imbalance can be serious.

Oral rehydration is often beneficial to replace lost fluids and electrolytes. Clear liquids are routinely recommended for adults. Water that is purified is best, along with oral rehydration salts to replenish lost electrolytes.

I get diarrhea after a long night of drinking. It's normal, happens to a LOT of ppl. I'm actually surprised that everyone else here hasn't heard of it or experienced it... Maybe they're not old enough to drink?

I know you love the rich chocolaty taste of Ex-Lax, but you've got to stop munching on it between slugs of Coor's.
