Because if they said what they intended to do, very few people would vote for them. The only policies they have enacted have been unpopular with the American people, IE the PATRIOT's Act and the war in Iraq.

self righteous indignation from the right wing,, the Christian right are an organization hell bent on running America,, the evangelical churches donate millions,, maybe billions to the Bush team,, the fiscal conservatives (born-again),,, Jerry Falwell,, Pat Robertson,,, Dobson,, Graham,, are all so used to getting their way with having a majority in the Republican House and Senate for so long,, they think it's a done deal,,,, what else are they suppose to do with all the money that the faithful give every Sunday,,, help the poor, the hungry,, the sick,, they don't follow Jesus,, they just preach what they want their followers to hear,,, some brainwashed Americans don't even realize that they are contributing to the fiscal, social and moral bankruptcy of the USA

Answer: Because very few people will actually vote for liberal policies.

Your question is false. Not all Republicans are the opposite of what they claim to be, just as all Democrats are poor...except for John Kerry, John Edwards, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Hilary Clinton...etc.

My, you have such a broad circle of acquaintances. You know all Republicans. There is enough hypocrisy to go around in all political leanings. There are also many on both sides that have sincere beliefs and live them. Try not to generalize.
