RAM is random access memory.
This memory is easily accessed at high speed
The CPU pre fetches data from the hard drive and stores it here.
If you don't have enough, then the CPU has to wait for info to come from the hard drive. That takes a lot of time in computer time.
Clock speed is the rate at which the CPU runs. The faster the clock the faster it can go through its instructions.
Data on the hard disk is just sitting there. Sometimes, it will get put back in a new place and the CPU will have to wait to get a bit from here and some more from there, This is why you defrag your hard drive. It puts all the data for each file together so it is faster to access.
Data on a CD ROM. this is data that is used very few times. Programs come on these and once installed, you put the CDs away. You can put pictures and stuff on them to save but be careful, they have a life and will go bad.
Data on a floppy. Hardly anyone uses these anymore cause they don't hold enough data. They are used when you are trying to fix your computer because you can load a small DOS app and boot from the floppy so nothing else loads. this is by far the slowest due to access speeds.

RAM - The more RAM you have, the more processing power your PC will have. Low amounts of RAM requires your machine to cache data on the hard drive, and hunt it down when the program calls for it. It is quicker to recall something you've memorized than it is to rummage around through your desk looking for it...
Clock Speed - The faster your processor, the faster it can process the data your program calls for. Think of it as your mind after an espresso, versus your mind after a six pack of beer.
Data on HD, CD, Floppy - Here the limitation is the speed of the device you are accessing. A floppy drive is slow. A CD is faster, but a hard drive is fastest - because your windows system already knows where things are located on the hard disk. It knows where to look, the disk spins faster, so the process moves along faster.
I think I need that six pack of beer now...

LoL Is this your homework?
When I was in sales I used an analogy.
Think of the computer as an office, you have the desk that you do your work on. You love your desk and it works great, however you can only fit so many different papers on it as you work on things before it becomes too crowded. To help store things you have a large filing cabinet beside your desk, when you run out of space on your desk you take things you're not using as often and file them away in the cabinet instead.
The desk is invaluable to you for using day to day but would cost you a LOT to get a larger one. The filing cabinet is helpful for keeping things long term and is pretty cheap to buy another one if you need more storage.
RAM is you office desk, uses files temporarily, the larger files and more files you work with at a time, the more RAM you need. The filing cabinet is you hard drive.
Clock Speed would be your brain yourself, no matter how much desk space you have, you can only focus on a certain amount of tasks at a time.
CD-ROM speed would relate to receiving an e-mail, you still have to read it and process it but you can do that at a decent speed.
Floppy disk would be like using Morse code and communicating to someone in another office. It'd be slow and cumbersome and wouldn't be very productive.

Okay, for those of you who said RAM but didn't mention clock speed, ARE YOU KIDDING. Clock speed and RAM are both very important, the others are very unimportant to overall speed, the speed of the hard disk matters somewhat, but it pails in comparison to RAM and clock speed.
