The difference between a thong and a V-string is that the v-string as less cloth at the top. In other words, the “V” shape of cloth at the top is smaller than the larger “V” shape cloth at the top of a thong. I’ll add a link to a pic of a V-string.

V-strings and g-string are basically the same. Urban Dictionary gives the following meaning to the V-string: “corruption of g-string. Developed by Victoria's Secret(R) to distance their product line from the less respectable g-string.

I'm a guy and I wear thongs and sometimes boxer briefs. I think that thongs are the most comfortable type of underwear. They are comfortable if you pick the right type of material, size and cut..

For me and for a lot of girls that I’ve talked to, thongs are more about comfort than anything else. I think that most people who don’t like them and find them uncomfortable, are people who tried them and picked the wrong size (too tight), wrong material and/or material thickness, among other few common mistakes.

Probably the most comfortable material for thongs is Microfiber. Microfiber is very soft and stretchable material out there. It moves and stretches with you. With the right material and cut, you don’t even feel them while you are wearing them once you are used to them.

Thongs give me excellent support, almost as if I was wearing a jock strap but a whole LOT more comfortable. I don't mean to discuss anyone, but I don't know how most guys can live with what I call “SBS” (Sticky Balls Syndrome), which is the sticky feeling that comes from sweaty scrotum touching your inner thighs...uncomfortable! With thongs, you don't suffer from SBS, as long as you buy the right ones.

Some people feel that men shouldn't wear thongs, but I don't see why not. People put too much importance on underwear. As if the type of underwear makes you more or less of a man. Dhaaa!

By my house, there's a western gay bar. You should see some of the guys that go in there. They look all super macho tuff guys wearing their western outfits. Totally, 100%, manly dudes! And yet, they are gay! Clothes don't make a man!

It really depends on the thong! some are just to avoid pantie lines, other are to look sexy, and others are just like normal underwear.

For comfort I like fredricks of hollywoods lace hipster thongs, they are like the boyshorts around the waist but don't give you the weggie the same way.

For fashion I try to pick something with light stiching to not get those lines.

Be warned though, thongs because they rest a lot closer to your body can cause yest infections if worn to often, and if the fabric is not very obsorbent, so save the mesh sparkely G strings for the bedroom only!

I like g strings because there is less material to bother me. Thongs feel like wedgies. Silky material is best. And lastly, I'd have to say that g strings/thongs are for fashion. I only wear them on the nights that I know they will be coming right off after an hour or two. =)

Otherwise, sexy lace, or something silky or satiny is what I keep on for the longer hours.

Some say thongs are comfortable, but you still get the back material stuck in your butt like the V-string! V- string doesn't have the little bit of material in the back, just a strap!

I wear them for both purposes.. I like to say I have nice cheeks;) so whoever's lucky enough to see them also gets a nice glimpse of pretty underwear. I also find that panty lines are just unbecoming no matter what so thats another reason.. Soft cottons with about 1/2 inch band are the most comfortable to me. The ones made of nylon don't seem to hug the right way.. and the skimpy dental floss types dig into your skin if they aren't the perfect size. It may seem cliche but Victoria's secret makes the most comfortable, prettiest ones I've found.

Fashion, pantylines are tacky. A v string has less material than a thong. I have no preference with materials.

I wear mine for fashion, believe me they are not the most comfortable things in the world. V-strings have very little material

I started wearing them because my hubby thought they were hot. Now I have become accustomed to them and I actualy think they are more comfortable than regular underwear.
