I have received several distrubring e-mails and I want to find out who this person is. They have sent me a text message before also. All I have is their e-mail address, is there anyway to find out who it is?

Not so easy. You have two options: either through police or though the email provider. If the letters are too disturbing, the police may be interested and will investigate. If not, your only chance is contacting the email provider, based on the sender's address. If you cannot figure out the provider, I suggest you contacting your email provider, hopefully they can help.

I think that if you're just trying to casually find someone then maybe yes. With all the weird people on the internet these days...you can never believe they say who they say they are. Some people may not give the right information when they are signing up for an email address such as the name. I know I've done that before just because of privacy. Even then though, it may be hard, I've never tried it..so I don't know of a path to get you there. Also, like the other person said...with their IP address you CAN definitely track them down...but that sounds like it would take a professional or just a pro on computers. Good luck!

Absolutely but you will probably have to go through law enforcement to do so. Every communication done on the internet has an "IP" address and can be traced like finger prints!
