Though they left quite the opening for a fourth movie (Magneto recovering his powers, Prof. X being in someone else's body) the people behind the movies say they will NOT be doing a fourth installment. Or, at least, one is not planned. They might decide to do one later, but for now... nada.
Instead, everyone seems to be focusing on the two spin-off type movies in production. "Wolverine" will be about... duh, Wolverine's life prior to the first movie. "Magneto" will also be about Magneto's past, including his friendship with Prof. X, maybe even going in depth about what caused them to part ways. Hugh Jackman and the woman who played Lady Deathstrike have been casted for "Wolverine," and Patrick Stewart and... I forget his name... the man who plays Magneto are cast for "Magneto." Both have the potential to be good; I'm already interested.
As for a fourth "X-Men," maybe they'll come out with it in a few years... hopefully. Personally, I wanna see more.

While listening to the Writers' Commentary on X-Men 3 on DVD, they explained that according to the comics, (I don't know for sure, so bear with me.) Charles Xavier was a twin. His Mutant powers effectively, and inadvertantly, killed his twin brother. (stillborn) The body was eventually placed under Dr. Moira McTaggert's care and should he need it, Charles had a "back up" body to transfer his consciousness into.

I believe that The Cure is only temporary. (When Beast backed away from Leech, his hand went back to blue and furry.) I think The Cure was wearing off in Magneto. That's why the Chess piece moved in the park.

In the comics, Charles gets a new body after getting implanted with a Brood egg and is given a new body (a clone of his old one) by the Star Jammers after the egg was born. He could walk with this new body. The body eventually gave out and he couldn’t walk again. He can walk now because of a deal he struck with the a crazy Scarlet Witch after M Day and traded his powers to be able to walk.

The twin Charles has is a female named Cassandra Nova. But she isn’t a normal human. She is a member of a species of bodiless parasites composed of living emotional energy known as the Mummudrai, legendary for appearing to every being in-utero shortly before birth as their ultimate opposite, she appeared to the unborn Charles Xavier, copying his DNA to create its own body.
Sensing its monstrous thoughts, Charles attempted to kill the creature resulting in its physical body being stillborn; however, the mummudrai survived as chaotic cellular matter and clung to a sewer wall for decades, rebuilding its physical form and perfecting its effort to mimic human traits. Perceiving the womb it became aware was the entirety of the universe, Cassandra believed that only she and Charles were real, and that killing him meant mastery of the universe as she saw it

In the beginning of the movie, there is a scene before Scott goes to Alkali Lake, and right after Storm and Logan exit the training area. Xavier is teaching a class and talking about how to control one's powers. During his lesson he shows a video with Doctor Moria on it, and a comatose man with no consciousness. He says that one can transfer their mind into that of another one who has no consciousness.

then at the end after the credits, you see Doctor Moria once more, and the man who is supposedly brain dead moves and has Xavier's voice when he says her name and she says, "charles" so it kind of makes you wonder if there will be a fourth movie...

on the top of the credit there's a scene the position charles is in a mattress hooked as a lot as three medical equipment and the docter is presented in and tell him (she doesn't comprehend that its charles she thinks that charles is lifeless) that his vitals are ok and charles says martha (that healthcare professional's call) and he's responded with "Charles?"

as others said charles is now in the new body,

Chess pieces can be made of most anything so they could be all or partially metalic, and since it is a public park, and their are a bunch of chess tables set up, it is possible that the pieces have a metal weight so they don't fall over in a slight breeze.

In the beginning, in the classrom, Prof X shows them a tape with the guy in a coma and says something about someday being able to swap consciousnesses or something...

In short, yeah, it seems he's transplanted his mind into this guy's body somehow.

Apparently, Charles transferred his soul into the other guy. He alluded to it earlier in the movie, so it's assumed that he did just that!

Supposedly he took over the body of the guy that didn't have a mind, so its not unethical.
